We can always find a reason to put things off. Maybe we just don’t feel quite ready to make that decision. Maybe it’s a task that we just don’t want to face before our morning coffee. Or maybe it seems that inertia has taken over and we just keeping doing what we’ve been doing.
It seems like the year is almost over anyway. What’s the point of making changes now? To make more money – that’s why! You’re in business to make money. There’s actually 20 percent of the calendar year left, and maybe more in your fiscal year. So, ya, there are better reasons to make some shifts than to not.
Set aside 30 minutes and ask yourself some questions. What’s working well? What’s not? Is your marketing giving you the return you expected? For the reason’s you expected? Are there a few regular customers that you haven’t heard from recently? You could just call with a friendly check-in.
Have you reviewed the stats and analytics on your website, search ads, other digital marketing recently? A few tweaks could make a big difference. Give us a call to discuss.
Have you looked at your website lately? Check both for accuracy and continuing appeal to your target market. Speaking of which, have you noticed any changes in your customer profile? Talk to your staff about that.
And what about the products or services you offer? Has popularity changed? Are you being asked for something you don’t currently offer? Do you have a backlog of orders or a huge amount of unsold inventory?
It’s so easy to just keep on keeping on. But everything around us changes, whether we’re noticing or not. So, get yourself into evaluation mode. Confirm what you already suspect and ask questions about the rest. A few changes now could have a positive impact over the next couple of months.
