Web Design Case Study
The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary
The Happy Herd gives rescued farm animals a forever home in Aldergrove. Their website needed to do more than tell that story: it had to give people a way in.

Business Challenge
Supporters wanted a way in, not a pamphlet
The Happy Herd Farm Sanctuary was founded in 2012 and became a registered Canadian charity in 2018. On four acres in Aldergrove they care for rescued goats, sheep, pigs, turkeys, cows, chickens, and cats, and they educate the public about animal welfare. A sanctuary lives on tours, donations, volunteers, and sponsors, none of which work if the website hides the next step.
The previous site made it hard to donate, book a tour, or volunteer, and it was not friendly on a phone. People who already cared needed a story-driven design that still made donate, book a tour, volunteer, and sponsor an animal easy to do.

Solutions We Delivered
A website built around meeting the animals, then helping
IIAS designed the Happy Herd experience around how supporters actually show up: they meet a story, then they need a door.
Animal-Led Storytelling
The design leads with the sanctuary and the animals, so the mission is felt before anyone is asked for money.
Support Paths That Are Obvious
Donate, sponsor, volunteer, and tour are first-class actions, not buried footer links.
Tour & Visit Clarity
Visiting information is easier to find, so a family can plan a tour without emailing for basic details.
Mobile Giving & Browse
The site works on a phone, because that is where a lot of supporters will meet the Herd and decide to help.
