Web Design Case Study
Castle Sewing
Castle Sewing has been the sewing community’s shop since 1942. Their website needed to do that same job online: show the machines, surface the classes, and make it easy to talk to people who actually know the craft.

Business Challenge
The shop had a community. The site didn’t keep up.
Castle Sewing Centre has served British Columbia sewers since 1942, machines, accessories, repairs, and a calendar of classes. The in-store experience is warm and expert. The old site did not match that: dated, hard to update, and weak at showing products or upcoming workshops.
People arriving from search needed to find a machine brand, a class time, or a repair contact without calling the shop first. Castle needed a digital hub that felt like the store: clear categories, event visibility, and a simple way to reach the team.

Solutions We Delivered
A website that works like the shop floor
IIAS designed the Castle Sewing experience around how real customers use the store: browse machines, find a class, or ask a person.
Heritage-Forward Design
We paired Castle’s history with a clean, contemporary layout so the site feels established without looking stuck in the past.
Product Browse by Interest
Machines, accessories, and brands are easier to scan, so a visitor can get to the right aisle instead of a long undifferentiated list.
Classes & Events Up Front
Workshops and classes have a clear home on the site, so the calendar can actually drive visits instead of living in a buried announcement.
Staff-Ready Content
Promotions, product notes, and class updates are structured so the team can keep the site current without waiting on a developer for every change.

A stronger digital foundation for Castle Sewing
