Web Design Case Study
UBS Industries
UBS Industries wanted to be the easiest supplier to deal with. Their website needed to do that job: SKU-level information, a quote a contractor can build, and less hunting through generalized spec sheets.

Business Challenge
A brochure could not carry SKU-level specs
UBS Industries is a Western Canadian distributor of metal framing, mechanical tubing, traffic sign posts, and Erectastep platforms, based in Coquitlam. Contractors, municipalities, OEMs, and industrial buyers need item-level specifications, not a blended product paragraph. The old site generalized specs, had no clean way to build a quote, and could not keep up as metal-framing SKUs grew.
Competitors were already offering searchable product pages and downloadable cut sheets. UBS needed a site that could meet that standard: SKU-specific pages, cross-reference, and an RFQ path that does not dump the work back onto the sales desk as a pile of emails.

Solutions We Delivered
A website built as a quoting tool, not a brochure
IIAS designed the UBS experience around the real contractor job: find the SKU, confirm the spec, and send a request.
SKU-Level Catalog
The product framework is built so items can carry their own specifications and literature, instead of sharing a generic description across a whole family.
Quote Request Path
Contractors can build and submit quote requests online, so RFQ intake is a site job rather than a pile of unstructured emails.
Find-the-Part UX
Browse and cross-reference are designed for people who already know what they need, not for a consumer shopping a lifestyle brand.
Room to Grow SKUs
The structure can take on more metal-framing items and related lines without collapsing back into brochure pages.
Key Outcomes
What changed for UBS Industries
- Turned the UBS website into a product-and-quote tool instead of a digital brochure
- Made SKU-level specifications easier for contractors to find
- Gave trade buyers a cleaner way to submit quote requests
- Positioned the metal-framing line as a first-class catalog, not a footnote
- Improved self-service for buyers who would rather check a spec than call first
- Built a catalog structure that can grow with more SKUs and locations
Conclusion
A stronger digital foundation for UBS Industries
The new UBS Industries website supports the company’s own standard: be the easiest supplier to deal with. By focusing on SKU detail and a quote path contractors can finish, IIAS helped UBS put a working tool in front of Western Canadian trade buyers.
